I come bearing doots. AH, PoA, Ideasguy and Macronomicon.

Currently reading Blue Core, DotF and HWFWM. So if someone has them, that'll be great.

DotF is really heating up, and I'm jonsing for doots. I think Void is trailing them, since it was mentioned his stealth is so good.

Primal Hunter had chapter 199 in there.
Then someone imported chapters 200+201, but that somehow deleted chapter 199.
Now, there is chapter 199 back again, but no 200+201.
Maybe some problems (missing posts), so the fixed it but had to do rollback?

Macross is a huge franchise, with like 7 different series. I recommend giving the first one a try, it's really old and mixed with either amazing animation or utter dog shit scribbling, sometimes in the same episode but I like it quite a bit. Even if you don't like the first series, give Macross Plus a chance, it's an (mostly unrelated to the first) amazing movie with some of the best animations out of anything ever.

 No.6492

>>6466
It’s an old‐ish franchise, with the original series airing in ’82. It’s Rated 7.93 on My Anime List from ~29K users and ranked #650 overall.

Among other things, it’s notable for having mecha that can transform into space fighters and for being one of the animes that FASA sourced their initial designs for BattleTech from.

I started reading Azarinth Healer the other day, man the writing quality sure is lacking compared to what I've read before, I think even Randidly Ghosthound has better writing. It lacks not only a goal but a coherent plot. I made it to ch.150 but honestly I'm not sure if I should continue reading. It's not BAD per se, but how tf does it have so many followers??

BTW big thank you to whoever updated Jason! The coming hiatus month is gonna be painful

 No.7178

>>7172

I keep thinking about reading AH, but every time the reviews make me think twice. Honestly, I think the only reason it has so many fans is because it has consistent releases and Litrpgs with authors you don't have to worry about disappearing are few and far between.

Also, I don't get the Randidly hate. It's no worse than the other crap we read here. I'd say it's typically better as Randidly has been making some pretty significant plot progress the past couple hundred chapters. It's pretty much done with world building backstory at this point, and any new points are pretty short and slot in with what has been built up.

 No.7179

>>7172
Yeah, I'd say it's running on reader habit mostly. No real plot, endless skill grinding, the main character has barely more personality than 'fight moar!'.

Shame, it had an interesting start.

 No.7181

>>7172
I actually love the lack of goal/plot.

The structure those bring can be nice for a singular book but for a potentially endless webnovel I don't want the story of how the MC achieves whatever goal and lives happily ever after.
I'm in it to witness the entire ever after, from pissing her pants at the sight of a drake all the way to the multiverse running out of worthy opponents and figuring out what else she wants to do with all her power.

 No.7184

For me, AH is about the endless adventure, constantly chasing that little bit more strength to find that old drake to beat into the ground.

It's definitely worse than most other crap we read here, at least the other series don't suddenly get rid of the entire cast and go from litrpg to wuxia because the author is a idiot that wanted to writer a different series or some idiocy like that.

 No.7226

>>7213
actually, that sounds pretty interesting, like a soft reboot or something. when did that happen exactly?

Also if whoever's been updating ivankal could do it once more before the month is out, just in case.

 No.7228

>>7226
>actually, that sounds pretty interesting, like a soft reboot or something. when did that happen exactly?

I will give you the context, Randidly started as a Apocalypse litrpg where the mc was stuck on a dungeon and by sheer luck found a master there to help him train and left the dungeon much stronger than anyone else on earth, he then spend the next hundred of chapters or so helping a village to get on it's feet, we start to develop the cast and all that jazz, with some dumb shit like bunny and turtle people appearing out of nowhere and disappearing just as fast as everyone told the author it was dumb, then suddenly the MC is summoned by the master that he found in the dungeon to his world, the series goes from litrpg to Wuxia, he spend literally 24/7 training, training and then some more training, the cast we grow to like is gone, the mc change completely, the system is greatly reduced in importance and start making less and less sense I decided to drop it then, but by going by the reviews he spend like 300 chapters on Wuxia world and then go to earth to a entirely different cast or some shit.

I really don't see how that is interesting honesty.

 No.7229

>>7226

They're exaggerating, but all the people on Earth essentially get left behind at some point. We still see them from time to time, and occasionally new characters are introduced, but the focus is more on how the things Randidly does or has done directly or indirectly affect people.

There are only a few people that stay with Randidly consistently.

It's a nonissue for me. It's a lot more like real life, relationships between people change. Yeah, it's too bad everyone else on Earth is a scrub that can't do anything for Randidly, but I don't want to read about him carrying them through every battle more than he already does. Plus, then the author would have to spend even more time working on characters other than the MC to justify their power creep as well.

 No.7231

>>7229
> Yeah, it's too bad everyone else on Earth is a scrub that can't do anything for Randidly, but I don't want to read about him carrying them through every battle more than he already does.

The easy answer for stuff like that is just to not make the MC so hilariously stronger than everyone else.

 No.7235

>>7231

Please, like that isn't the same with every other novel here. They all have their own op skill(s).

 No.7237

>>7231
The issue is that the MC inevitably gets more and more skills and abilities as the story drags on… it's manageable at chapters 1-100, but once you hit the 300 mark, all balance goes out the window.

 No.7239

>>7235

>Please, like that isn't the same with every other novel here.

It isn't? None of the stories I read has the MC being so much stronger than everyone else that they are useless.

 No.7240

>>7239
correct.

randidly is on a whole 'nother level. puddles had randidly fight a large group of the highest level people in the world 1 vs like 100… and not lose… he would have probably won, but the arena collapsed before puddles had to either make his beloved randidly lose or show the readers how pointless it is to root for superman in a world without kryptonite.

 No.7245

>>7237
Funny how Jason has managed to have a crap load of skills, evolve those skills and still not have the MC be hilariously overpowered compared to everyone else, funny that huh. It's just the different between a crap written series like Ghosthound and something actually good like Jason.

 No.7246

Cool story, Jason-bro.

 No.7250

Honestly I stopped reading Jason's story because the main character hasn't crowed at all. He acts immature as hell and does not emotionally grow. He also stills makes the goddamn mistake. I think both Ghosthound and HWFWM share a lot of the same problems.I actually prefer Azarinth Healer because while there isn't an overarching plot. The main character becomes more mature, and there aren't a shit ton of contrived events to make the main character the "chosen one".

 No.7251

That's just my opinion.

>I actually prefer Azarinth Healer because while there isn't an overarching plot. The main character becomes more mature, and there aren't a shit ton of contrived events to make the main character the "chosen one".

AH is just dumb mindless bullshit with no goal, objective or anything worthwhile going for it beside punching monsters and skill grinding. At least Jason feels like it has a story going for it.

Where have you read up to? The earlier chapters are the roughest and can be a slog. Personally, I fucking despise people who say “it gets better, just bear with the first x00 chapters!” but if ever there was a case where it could be legitimately argued AH is one. I don’t begrudge anyone saying that they don’t have time for that shit — I understand perfectly where you’re coming from because that’s what I say when some dipshit tries to sucker me into reading a bajillion chapters of whatever wildly overrated piece of shit they inexplicably like just to get to the good stuff.

Regarding goals: I wouldn’t say it has a specific overarching goal, but there are some goals she’s working towards nowadays. Solving the mystery of the Taleen and dealing with the missing sun being the most prominent, but the closest thing to an actual overarching goal is actually just a strong trend: righting wrongs, finding ways to advance humanity, and bringing together different communities.

As to the appeal of the story? My primary fascination with it is the worldbuilding that’s accomplished through her murderhobo tendencies; there’s a lot of ruins and other shit that she explores, slowly getting a more accurate picture of the past that led to the present day, though the colourful people she meets are also a draw.

I was reading Royal road's forum for some reason, and holy shit Zogarth is probably the most pathetic author I've seen, guy is making nearly 12k a month and somehow keeps bitching about how awful, distressing and mean it is to receive 0.5 stars rating, how he got whooping 10 0,5 in April and that the admins should change the rating system to a like and dislike one to make him feel better.

 No.7361

>>7354
Eh, it’s in authors’ favors to complain about the rating system. There’s a constant turnover of fics in the ratings and by altering the system it provides opportunities to cement popular fics at the top to capitalise on their success.
Shirtaloon has crazy profits on KU, but it’s going to come round and bite him on the ass eventually as he has no new inflow of readers who are predisposed to patreon. That will eventually taper off and die to be replaced with KU.
Honestly, no one should be complaining about ratings now, since there’s the opportunity to disable them on the dashboard. Was a really good update that helps prevent burnout and eyeing the rankings constantly.

And while I would never take a dumb bet like that, specially not from a autistic idiot like you, if I did I would just make a bunch of accounts on RR and give him like 30 0,5 in the spam of a week or two, if 2 0,5 in a day is making him lose sleep and making completely unable to write for days, imagine what 30 in a week would do.

You are quite the whiny little bitch, aren't you? Who's a whiny little bitch? You, yes you are. Admit it, you just want to suck Zogarth's dick and you are in denial so you are whining about him.

 No.7489

>>7486

RR would notice the bad reviews all coming from accounts on the same IP and delete them. And you cannot review from a VPN.

 No.7497

>>7486
Absolutely not, besides thinking that he's pathetic I don't dislike Zogarth or anything like that and even if I did I still wouldn't do that because I know that plenty of people like Primal Hunter, no way that I would even try to ruin their fun over nothing.

>>7489
Damn, the "idea" was to use a VPN, but being unable to do that make it waaay harder. I could still try asking 30~ friends to do that for me so it's not really impossible but sound like it would be a lot of work, specially because I would have to find people from different states/countries so it wouldn't look too suspicious.

I'm glad to know that RR put some road block to trolls though.

 No.7514

Can someone update Dungeon Crawler Carl by Dinniman? it catches up tonight.

 No.7522

>>7497
Would still look inorganic and RR tends to err on the side of neurotic and overly sensitive authors. That being said, a mere six or seven 0.5s over the course of a week might be enough on its own to break him.

To top it off, it appears the author also burnt out writing it. I doubt we'll see a repeat of that ever again.

 No.7678

Hey, is someone subscribed to ivankal this month? If not I'll probably subscribe.

 No.7679

updated azarinth, hopefully someone is gonna do Zogarth this month

 No.7680

>>7676
Yeah on discord he made some revisions to a couple older skills, so it seems he burned himself hard on all the system stuff. If you actually read through the blue boxes, there is a metric fuck ton of skill and class information. All the theorycrafters loved it. I can totally see why all that system building, math, and balancing was painful to write.

Anything on the Blue Core front, from InadvisablyCompelled? Usually only updates here once a month.

yeah delve's system is crazy complex, credit where it is due it's definitely the most complex and overall better built system I've ever seen in a litrpg. it wouldn't be such a problem if the author didn't lean into it so much, but this is the path he chose. i hope he doesn't burn out

Not who you replied to, but I think ANW was better than RG. The reason I liked it better was in RG it felt like he became famous overnight with people "whispering" about him or something weird like that.

In ANW there's still the same level of plot armor asspullery but the side characters don't start literally worshiping him until he actually pulls off "impossible" feats.

That said, I think ANW really went downhill after he went off planet, and it sounds like that's a common gripe with RG as well. Its going to be interesting to see if DotF falls into the same trap as those two as the climatic battle ended rather abruptly and went directly into a multi year time skip.

 No.7729

Nah, randidly is worse than new world… it's a close contest, but nw is less ridiculous

 No.7730

New world also doesn't change the genre completely and totally forget a ton of its cast.

New world isn't perfect, but it might as well be compared to trash tier Randidly.

How does one make cash out of this litrpg craze? mind you I'm not saying shirtaloon or pirateba tier money but like 200-300 bucks.
Do you guys have any tips?

 No.8041

>>8039
The same way you make money out of anything- invested time and effort. Make sure your writing quality is acceptable, make sure you have some good ideas, make sure your system works with the story you want to tell. Then plan out your shit, and spend the time you need to make sure you can keep up at least 2K multiple times a week on a consistent schedule.

Then build up a backlack, post a chapter or two daily for like a month, then announce you have a dozen chapters on patreon and public releases will be dropping down to 4-6 times a week.

 No.8052

>>8041
My story is in its planning stages but it doesn't have a system cause I'm very bad at math, I can do 4k words a day easy but my grammar isn't the very best (punctuation and typos being the major blow here due to my ELS roots)but I was told by my American friend that it's legible (I've been using Grammarly but even then a bunch of mistakes doesn't get caught cause its not the pro version)
Would you recommend Scribblehub or Royal Road?
I also got about 100k words written, both as lore and world-building and actual chapters
